I am not quite sure whether I understand your query correctly, nor am I an
expert on Roulette. AFAIK, you get the best odds (and the lowest
reward) by any of the binary bets: red/black, even/odd, low/high
numbers. This yields an 18/37 (or 18/38 if the roulette has two zeroes)
chance of doubling your bet, because the zero is not part of any of the
sets on which you can bet. Note that the average return is 36/37 (or
36/38), which is less than one, so the bank profits in the long term.
Greetings
To maximize the odds of winning at roulette, place all the money you will ever
bet on roulette on one spin - your choice of red or black. Anything else
goes to pay for the free drinks and bright lights.

Not quite: This maximises your payout (ie the amount you win on average)
should you play. To really maximise your payout, don't play at all. This way
you break even on average, which is better than you'd do with a roulette
wheel, on average.
To maximise your chances of winning (ie coming out ahead), place $1 on either
red or black. If it loses, place $2 on red or black. Double your
bet each time you lose. As soon as you win, stop playing - you will have
won $1. The odds of this happening eventually are pretty high. Start with a
little over $1,100,000 and the odds of you not winning $1 and losing your
million plus are less than 1 in a million. Note that on average, you'll still
lose lose.
I've managed to win money in side-bets by showing people how two
players, one playing red, the other black, can both almost-certainly win
a trivial amount over time, just by pattern-betting (with a slightly
greater than trivial chance of losing everything).
Hmmm,
It would appear that my original plan will not work. I was hoping to name a
commando unit after a color number combination, if there was one that was more
risky than others. This does not seem to be the case. Ah well.
Thank you all,
Eli
Go for 'double zero'. In American casinos, all bets lose to the house. Most
commando units are sponsored by the 'establishment' so that makes sense, and a
double-zero unit sounds appropriately specfor-, or James Bond-ish.

You asked for the one with the highest odds. That would be the *least* risky.
I take it you meant the "lowest" odds. I don't know much about roulette ("if
you don't play, you don't lose" covers most

Try "Double Zero".
On European wheels, there's a "00" in green, apart from the reds and blacks. A
ball here means the House Wins (it's the way the House gets it's payout). Some
wheels (US?) have two green slots, doubling the house percentage.
I believe you can "bet on the green", which would be the same as betting on
one number ( assuming 1 green) or two (2 greens).
Well,
"Double Zero" does have that ring but it's a ring everyone has heard. "I
originally had one named "Black 13" but wanted to try and see how this related
to Roulette odds. I think I'll still use it and come up
with a different reasoning - perhaps it's the commander's favorite
roulette combo or something.
Thanks for al the input,
Eli
