True story. In a recent conversation with my girlfriend, we were discussing
our hypothetical future house. At one point, she said to me, "We have to have
a nice, big, open area somewhere in the house." "Why's that?", I asked, a
little suspiciously. She looked me in the eye, and said, very seriously, "So
we can have a nice big gaming table." I had never believed that such a woman
was possible, and yet.... Am I lucky, or am I very lucky?

Does she have a sister?

Well, know that my pack-rat mother has left our house and has
taken her piles and piles of worthless junk with her, that leaves me our VERY
large basement to use for gaming purposes.

Hey, we had to get the new solar hot water system, purified water system, and
the wedding wasn't that long ago. Besides my wife has about a half dozen plans
before we close underneath. It'd be a great place though. Nice and far enough
away from the women so they won't keep looking at us and shaking their heads
like they usually do. I already know where the painting table, gaming table,
terrain storage areas, old lounge and the TV. Of course every time that we
save enough for something else, other things seem to take priority. I have to
admit I prefer hot water over a gaming area. I must be getting older and
softer.

My fiancee is pretty much the same. I have a room pretty much devoted to my
games (and her craft, but that only takes up a corner). We MAY move in the
near future and have talked about making sure there's room for a gaming room
in any place we move to. She thinks its essential! And recently she's started
letting me paint in the dining room as there's more light in there and its
less oppressive than the gaming room (which has an awful dark green paint
scheme that makes the room quite depressing at times). "Anything to get you
painting again" she says. What a woman.

Please note: I am taking motes and painting as fast as my little hands can go.
(The great dream, having all the ships on the same board at the same time.)
Bye for now

She just knows that if you don't, you'll take up whatever other big open space
is available ie the lounge room.:)
