Have anyone tried using Roco Minitanks with Jon's 25's? I had a pair of old, I
think they are howitzers, (they're pretty big) that I use as low tech
(compared to whats out there) AT guns for my Merc Platoon...
What I'm curious about is weather or not the tanks may be useful? I'm thinking
something like light recce vehicles or so, they're way smaller then even the
smallest GZG tank destroyer I have...
I have an entire roco tank battallion somewhere in a box... That would save me
alot of money on setting up a recce platoon when I get the rest of my infantry
company from the October deal...:)
If you've used them, what vehicles did you use? And any pictures? Please
please please?:)
Johan, Yeah I have tons of ROCO stuff but, I use them with my 15mm GZG troops.
The tanks, HUMMERS, APCs, and guns work really well with Jon's stuff.

I've also got some very nice ROCO tanks that have been modified into 15mm SF
vehicles, using Stan Johansen turrets and parts. Now that I've got a digital
camera, I've taken some pictures...but I've also exceeded my allowable hits
for the month, so I'll have to wait for a bit before I post them.
Ok, thanks folks...:)
I guess I have to wait for my 15mm collection to grow
then... :)
And I'll sit idly by waiting for 'em... Or is there a chance for you to email
them to me?:)

I converted a number of models from Minitanks a few years ago, but again
that was 15mm. As for pictures - I've been promising DonM some for a
couple of weeks, so once the SELWG show is over at the weekend I will dig them
out and set up the camera.

They are too small for his 25s. However, I have a whole bunch of them that I'm
using with his 15mm figures!

I have a bunch of modern Marders that I'm fixing up for use as APCs. One side
of my 15mm forces will use them pretty much as is. The other side is where the
"fixing" is taking place, as I'm going to convert them to GEV/anti-grav.
An easy, fast conversion was to take the turret of an American Sheridan and
pop it onto the top of a Marder 1A3. You get yourself a small scout tank, with
a snub nosed gun that could be anything from a GMS/H to a DFFG.
> If you've used them, what vehicles did you use? And
So far I've used Marder 1A2 driver variants for GEV/anti-grav command
APCs, a
Roland for a GEV/anti-grav missile vehicle, and Marder 1A3s for APCs. I
will use Marder 1A3 driver variants for command APCs as well. I modified
Sheridans
as GEV/anti-grav tanks but didn't like the look, hence the conversion of
popping a turret on a Marder, which works well. I bought several of the
Leopard II variants (I forget the designation; the most recent with the cool
turrets) to convert into GEV/anti-grav tanks, but this will take a back
seat as I found my three old Traveller 15mm grav tanks, and I'll just repaint
those first. The other Roco vehicles I bought were a German missile APC which
will
probably get converted into GEV/anti-grav, plus three of the small
weasels (two gun, one TOW). These are tiny vehicles and can be converted into
drones, or just left alone as small support vehicles.
I also have a number of Roco WW2 tanks which will eventually see service with
my 15mm WW2 figures. Roco is somewhere between 15mm and 20mm in scale, and the
15s look about the best with them.
Great! Piccies, piccies, piccies!

I've done some conversions both of Roco Minitanks and Airfix plastic kits for
15mm SG2; pics at
http://wind.prohosting.com/~warbard/sg2gallery.html
The Roco Marders have hover-skirts of airdrying clay and no other mods;
the Airfix Scorpion light tank has clay skirts & some minor tweaks and
additions, mostly on top of the turret.
