Subject: PSB not neccessary

I'm a bit behind on the thread on range and time scale for FT, but I thought
I'd inject that I've kinda always assumed any beam type attack in a space
game, "rastered" the beam over the most probably location of the target when
the beam was due to arrive. As mentioned, if your fighting with any kind of
sensor lag, or even apprecialbe travel time for the beam to reach it's target,
you need to blanket the possiblites to achive any kind of hit, So a "shot" is
actually a series of salvo's to bracket the enemy movement envelope. Plus it
is a great explination on why you have to roll a randomizer (die) to determine
if you hit and how much damage you did:)

My.02 cred's worth
