I noticed that my first posting came up all F^%$£d on the archive, was this
because I sent it in html format rather than plain text.??

Quite possibly. You should always send in plain text format. Not every mailer
interprets html format the same, or at all.

The archive server uses mhonarc to convert list mail to HTML pages. It tries
to read the HTML versions of messages, but isn't terribly good at it; most of
us on the list prefer plain text anyway, I think...

One of the rules of the list is: "Thou Shalt Send Plain Text and No
Attachments". The reason, IIRC, is that it screws up the digest version.
