I like Dean's idea of charging half the capacity each turn. Presumably, a
damaged system with halved capacity charges one quarter of the original
capacity (rounded down).

I would only allow rerolls of 6's if the damage modifiers for range (and
possibly shields) are still applied to the reroll.

I like the to-hit roll in addition to rolling for damage.  To make it
fairly
limiting, how about 3+ to hit at all ranges ?  Most of us can hit on a
consistent basis with that, but Indy'll only hit about 1 in 6. Sounds pretty
good to me.

Agree.

I don't much, purely on the grounds of KISS. They already have a
(substantial!)range penalty. By all means increase points costs if you
think them too powerful/unbalancing, but keep the simplicity.
