Subject: Pocket Nukes
The New Scientist has an interesting article on a novel method of producing nuclear explosions with small amounts of materials: http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994049 One gram of such explosive could produce explosions equivalent to several Kilos of TNT. > From my rusty nuclear physics knowledge, it should work in princÃple. In practice, it seems awfully expensive and most of the nuclei must be triggered simultaneously - extremely difficult to achieve in practice. Still, gives you a new PSB for ultra-powerful SF handweapons. Greetings Karl Heinz
