Apologies, if this has been asked before.
Can Phalon Plasma Bolts affect friendly Phalon ships?
I assume that they do as the FB2 rules state that they attack all ships within
6MU. Or did i misinterpret this and you won't suffer friendly fire effects (as
i just did)? If they do damage friendly craft and possibly the launching ship
too, then using them along with Pulsers set to Close can be quite risky.
Cheers,

Your assumptions are correct. Every game I've been a Phalon in has required at
least one or more quick communiqués for coordinating firing and maneuvering
as to avoiding becoming a victim of my own or my teammates PBs.
SMBs specifically state "enemy" ships in the rules while PBs have no such
designation that I can find.

I believe this is the case... plasma bolts are area-effect weapons, so
it's not a situation where they're intelligently directing their attacks
against a target under guidance. My take is that they've got a time fuse of
some sort (probably chemical in some way), and they fly a certain distance and
just explode. Missiles, on the other hand, have a more directed approach and
real guidance systems.

Yes. They affect *everything* under the template, friend and foe alike. Don't
run into your own plasma barrage unless you do it to avoid a greater danger
(ie., enemy missiles or fighters) <g>
