I'd prefer FT/B5 thanks.
I'm proposing to run a PBeM game in the near future. The game would be using
B5Wars or a modified FT rules set that reflects B5. The scenario would go out
around mid December, and play would start first week of January.
I'll look at the first 6 positive replies and take them as votes as to which
system to play. As a courtesy, I will be giving priority to individuals
who've run PBeM games I've played in (sorry, fair warning clause). Depending
on the system chosen, there will be room for 10 to 12 players.

Count me in.:^)
And my vote, if you've got the space, is for B5/FT. Indy's rules seem
pretty good, perhaps replacing the beam weapons with some kind of contested
die roll instead.
See you around...

Sign me up! I would prefer FT/B5.
Please let me know via e-mail.
Thanks,

Hmmm. Are people trying to tell the B5-wars developers something? (Like
why bother when JT's doing the role playing game combat system)

I'll play either system. As for experience, I've been in 3 of Mark Kochte's
games, so I know my way around FT. I have not playtested B5Wars, but am more
than willing to take a crack at it. For preference, I'll vote AYE to Full
Thrust, since I already own a copy.

For PBeM, simplicity is far preferable over complexity (I speak from both the
player and ref standpoints;). I think the B5Wars game has a place in the
gaming field, and has potential, and some neat ideas
that can't quite be represented in FT-like systems (at least not
without getting more complex than necessary). Some people will like
the B5Wars system over JT's system, I'm sure (hey, there are people/nuts
out there who prefer SFB over almost anything else ;-). Others won't.
Matter of preference, thaz all.
Both FT and B5Wars can be done over email; FT's just a lot simpler, and has a
wider audience than B5Wars does (hey, is this a B5Wars
list, or an FT list? ;-).

I'd be interested in playing a B5-FT Game......
Let me Know
Brian
well... I don't know B5, and have a feeling I'd just slow the game down, but
can I be included as a lurker? (never seen a pbm game before..)
thanks!

I'd like to try this too; is it possible for me to lurk and observe? I think
I'd like to watch a bunch of experienced players demonstrate the system before
I get involved in a game.

I'm willing to burn a few folks from the sky!! Count me in if there's a slot.

Well, this IS an FT mailing list. Still, this is a strange licensing
arrangement given that both the RPG people and the B5 Wars people will have a
starship combat system. I find it hard to believe that B5 Wars will be as
fluid and fast paced as FT. Perhaps B5 Wars will aim at smaller but more
detailed engagements.
Mike,
You're the 11th or 12th player. After this, players will be told they are
alternates, and may get to play.
Tom
Hi,
