There are a number of Excel spreadsheets that have been developed for PBeM
games. Dean Gundberg developed one for the Deneb Clash. I had one for my first
tournament. I've improved mine with some of Dean's formulas for my second
tournament and added other refinements. You
can obtain it from http://www.albany.net/~davis/ft.
The Full Thrust PBeM scene is quiet right now. I know that another call for
players was issued several weeks ago but I haven't heard any follow up report
on that game. Is it still active? Is there any Web support for it?

I've played the Ogre and GEV board games via e-mail using an honor
system for dice rolls. But I haven't played for about 4 or 5 years.
I don't know of anyone attempting a PBeM DSII game. It seems to me that
SGII would be easier to run or play than DSII over e-mail.

Well,
It seems that email is the only way I can get to play a real FT game ( and B5W
too), but I'm sure I don't stand a chance against any of you seasoned ( that
means lots of mono sodium glutimate, right?) players, so...... are there any
generic PBEM tools around?????
Have FTMAP, Perl, Microsoft Works, VC++, Claris Works , Java kits,
Director and those type of tools, so is there anything useable with any of
that for making a *beginners* PbeM game??
Have a Mac Performa 630 ( not a PowerPc) and now a Pentium Win95 laptop to do
the Game Mastering with, so if there is anything around, I should be able to
use it.
Any body ever heard of PBem DSII and Ogre games either???

I'm working on a set of perl utils, but I wouldn't expect them to be ready for
prime time for at least a month. But when I think they're ready, trust me,
I'll run a couple of games to check them.

Heh.
Not entirely sure what you mean by that; a few sessions of practice against 'a
seasoned player' and you ought to be able to hold your own fine.

Not DSII, no, but there is a current Ogre/GEV PBeM game going on,
hosted by Andrew 'Fish' Flowers (awflower@midway.uchicago.edu). You could ask
him for details of future games (he also has a website for
info on the current game: http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/pbem/fish/ )
