You don't need to blow your suit if you just can lift the bricks. How much
lifting etc. can a suit of power armour do? I would have thought at least a
few hundred Kilos (a trained Weight Lifter can do that), perhaps even a ton or
two (a light crane)?

Well, it depends on whether you like to have "realistic" games, where you have
to account for things like leverage, or "fantastic" games, where the special
effects are more important than the laws of physics. In other words, who's
stronger: A guy in a suit of powered armor, or the Incredible Hulk?
