Jeeze, I completely forgot about those. 10 Super heavy Squat Land things
(collossii, leviathans, Hellcannons, landtrains, etc). An entire company of
the VTOL gyrocopter thingys, and lots and lots of infantry, something like 6
hosts with support. All on a big shelf with the 40K, Fantasy and MOW. All
neatly boxed and labeld, never to be used again it seems.....*sigh*

I've a psuedo-landtrain, made from 1/35 Maus and armored train cars. I'd
offer to bring it for SGII at GenCon, but I'm afraid of insulting someone
with such silliness. ;->=
I never played much figure wargaming then, but I've plenty of friends that
wax lyric remembering how you could dream up neat-new-stuff without
someone claiming 'it's not in the rules!'
To those with whom I've gotten too strident during some current discussions
about what should be added to canon, my fear of a straight-jacketed
system is the only excuse I can offer, along with an apology.

Well, something like that in DS would be Boom Chit bait. Fun to run against,
but canonically difficult to from Chi Draconis to an ESU world for Eurie
bashing...

Thats how it was....
FYI:Ryan, your post seems to have come through double, again. Oh, on second
look, I guess it's the carbon copy you sent direct. Nevermind...

Well, at 1/35th, I was thinking SGII. ;->= However, canon, it ain't.
Wait, a settler-bashed armored-armed construction unit! Looks ESU tech
to me.

I also still have an unpainted Space Marine plastic company box set. I'd have
to say, though, the current fantasy regiments are almost the same kind of
value. With constant dollar, maybe better. (See, I can say nice things about
GW! It just hurts.)

I went much further on the Custom front. 3 tanks, 1 hover tank (modified
Panzerjager), one flying scout, an infantry walker, 1 MICV and 1 APC.

I say things about the old GW. The really old GW....

The GW when White Dwarf was an AD&D/Traveller mag, the GW when it was
Rogue Trader, the GW when everyone looked at that first... old... Harlequin
Army List and said "MY GOD!?!?"
I really think that that was the beginning of the end.

Or was it the end of the beginning?;)

I remember one guy who actually had put together a H. Army using that old
list, when we were all playing by the Rogue Trader rules...
He never really ever got to play it. :-)
The darn thing was so powerful that nobody (or even a couple of anybodies)
could field a force that ate up that many points without going nuts.
He painted the darn thing and everything, man it was nice. He also played
Eldar so we saw Harlequins as part of forces very, very occasionally when were
feeling nice about letting him attach them.
I really do like SG when I think about some of those obscene point countings
and whatnot...
