Hio folks,
Want to pose a question for ya'll. Is there a calling for say ARV's or CEV's?
I have a few designs that might work as one of the two or both, but want to
get some input before going and throwing these babies into wubba, (read
rubber). And what about MLRS systems mounted on either the Kamodo chassis or
on some other type of chassis? Same thing for vehicles like Artillery? You
know, like the M109, or the 2S19. Could folks use them in a scenario? Oh, oh,
ADA? Gun, or missile, and what about both in the same turret! That'd be kool
huh? Of course, everything I make in 25mm will be in 15mm as well.
Anywho, just wanted to know....... I'm going back into the shop now.

market.
Those may be useful, particulary in 15mm. However, I would be more interested
in a GEV APC. I'm just not into the wheeled thing.:) The Civet's are nice, and
it would great to see other vehicles that
"fit"
with them better.

G'day,

I might if I knew what they were;) <Adrian, some more for the glossary;)>
Cheers

John - I'd be shocked if you don't already own CEVs
in multiple scales - like a good Engineer gamer should!
Now if someone could help me come out of Transportion Corps Mode so I can stop
buying cargo trucks and landing craft...
Hey, David. I for one wouldn't buy any CEVs or ARVs. They'd look cool and be
fun to have, but I really don't think I'd use 'em in a game...
Now hover jeeps in 15mm - I'd definitely buy a couple of
those. Just like the open top, with roll bar hover jeeps in the 2300AD Vehicle
Recognition Guide of mine you still have...;) And the hover jeeps would be a
good place
for me to put the new Peter Pig sci-fi crews I bought.

Got me, too, Beth. I think they are "Armoured Recovery Vehicle" and "Combat
Engineering Vehicle". The first is essentially a tow truck for tanks, and the
second is a generalized vehicle for combat engineers.
I would have use for a CEV (assuming I got the acronyms right). An ARV?
Probably not. The SG2 rules don't allow you to fix disabled vehicles in the
field...
ARV Armor Recovery Vehicle CEV Combat Engineer Vehicle
I think.
It's a bad Monday, I'm probably going to get a letter of warning about my
non-PC comments. Like I care a whole lot! It was true!
Gracias,

Campaign, campaign, campaign. You hold the field, you get X% 'destroyed
vehicles back next day/game/battle (roll a D12 and 1-2, it's
operational,
3-4 it's damaged, 5 it's got mobility problems (think improv pill box IF
you have a ARV to tow it in position,) and 6 it's fully mobile but the
gun doesn't work (decoy anyone?) 7+ It has to go to Depot.
Damaged vehicles are repaired 1-9 on a D12 if a dedicated Repair unit is
employed (no other functions allowed) Can sub one ARV (not available in next
battle) or two CEV (just to make something of a decision call.)
Realistic? Maybe not but it gives a reason to have/deploy those
vehicles beyond the obvious ones...
Experts may now carp freely...
Gracias,
G'day,

Thanks for the definitions guys
<By the way Tomb, you can never guess too low when it comes to my knowledge
of military vehicles... Allan has hit the definition/explanation level
on the head here, but thanks for your descriptions anyway;)>

No one makes a good 25mm CEV.

Targets. Every scenario needs targets driven by expendables...

Firk! CEVs with a good demo gun (150-200mm range) are
God's Gift to Bunkerbusting.
