The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) has been quietly scanning Mars
pictures, looking for the Mars Polar Lander since early December 1999.
According to a source close to the NIMA effort, photographic specialists at
NIMA think they've spotted something.

FWIW, NIMA is not a 'Spy Agency' since that agency doesn't do HUMINT, ELINT,
etc. NIMA is a member (by default) of the "Intelligence Community" but in no
practical way could it called a 'Spy Agency' by anyone who has knowledge of
it's current activities.

And, no, I cannot either confirm or deny... anything.

Mars Polar lander huh? Well, it beats the UFO stories... <grin>
