At this point I'd just like to say three things..
1) Got any male equivalents for my wall? (Fair's fair.)
2) Let me assure you that most guys at wargaming conventions aren't too easy
on the eyes either! (But I guess that scoping out men isn't exactly the reason
you guys go.)
and 3) I can allay your fears (or should I say dash you hopes?) as to the
wardrobes of female wargamers.. they do NOT, as a general rule, contain
chain mail bikinis - we just hire them to go to conventions in. Just
kidding, the only semi-clad wargaming associated individual in this neck
of the woods is my Naked Nun (close combat specialist in my Necromunda gang).
Have fun,
Beth
Hmm, well Beth, my wife made a similar observation when she picked me up from
a club meeting recently. Something about why do so many gaming people look so
'nerdy, unkempt and generally unattractive'??? Sheer audacity!! Unfortunately,
I didn't have much of a come back!!!
Regarding the posters? Well, what happenend to the old Conan (Arnie)
Posters??? I've still got mine!
> Hmm, well Beth, my wife made a similar observation when she picked me
"Social Graces" is not a normal part of the "Gamer" character package, and
most Gamers don't want to pay the points for it when they could buy "Star Trek
Trivia" or "Familiarity: Obscure Wargames" instead. Older, more experienced
Gamers may take Social Graces, but they generally pay for it by taking a
Spouse, with the associated disadvantage "Never has time to actually game".

Well that's why you marry another gamer and start your kids young (18mths =
rolling dice and 4yrs = playing FT already):)
Cheers
Beth
Well, guys (in the gender-neutral form), occasionally a blind sow finds
a pearl. Having always tried to rise above the morass of typical gamers, by
skillful use of soap and toothpaste, I managed to snare myself a Spouse.
Not just any Spouse - a real honest-to-Rodina brunette Russian Jewess,
twice removed from the Motherland. Her temper reminds me of Ivanova's, as
well. Should NEVER have tought her those hapkido techniques.
Not to brag (too much), just to let you know that there is hope.

Sorry, Beth, no. Not that we haven't been asked before..... Mind you, if you
could find 200 likely buyers...???
:)
Funnily enough, this is the same reaction we often get from Lady customers
re: the GC (Gentlemen's Collectables) range of figs - "Hey, they're
gross!! Er..... have you got any male ones....?" I'm all for equality in this
sort of thing, but sadly the industry isn't! <grin>

Yeah I noticed this so when I used to buy Games Workshop figures:) NOTE WHEN I
used to send the misses in. She would have them on their hands and knees
searching the dark corners of their stock room just to find the one figure I
needed. I even got away with sending her in with a description of a figure to
see if they had anything like it! Everytime I asked I got a simple don't think
so.:) The power of the opposite sex;)

We get females in our local game shops. Unfortunetly, they're all RPGers and
will have nothing to do with those "unimaginative" wargamers.

Whoa! Deja Vu...

HA! I wish! "Oh, you run THAT FT WWW site?" <As she cuddles closer>
I was able to get my `Ex to play a couple of games of FT (both of which she
won) and helped me run some demos. It's funny, about the same time that she
got around to dumping me she also started to snag on my gaming.

My fiancee has been itching to sculpt some male counter parts to the
Gentlemen's collectables series. If it wasn't for a heavy work and school load
(and the fact that I haven't got all the parts she needs to start working on
them) I bet she'd be working on them as we speak.
Beth, keep your fingers crossed and maybe she'll come up with something that
she'll deem worthy of selling to a minis producer.

Noah my man, for some of us (especially myself)daily grooming just
isn't enough to cover-up severe homeliness.

Gina was half-greek, and bore a resemblance to a certain warrior
princess I could name.
Hapkido.... that should make for some "interesting" evenings.
;-)

To paraphrase a certain very depressed robot: "Hope. Don't talk to me about
hope."
Excuse me, I'm going to go sulk.

Oh, and what parts would those be? ;-)

Sounds like this quote has the project I'm working on down to a "T"ee.

You're quite right. My four year old was rolling the attack dice for a crewed
RFAC/2 bunker in a Stargrunt game this weekend. He knocked the stuffing
out of his older brother's squads!
G'day Jon,
> Sorry, Beth, no. Not that we haven't been asked before..... Mind you,
Well, I can only live in hope:) By the way, I think your Gentlemen's
Collectables aren't gross, in fact they're quite useful: 1) My husband Derek
(and his dad) think they make very suitable presents
:)
2) As a diversion, while the rest of your troops get into an advantagous
position, they work like a DREAM! Hasn't failed yet:)
Cheers
Beth

Gee, Kevin, you don't come off very well from that description.
Sorry, had to take the cheap shot.
