Is anone out there familiar with a game for modern Micro Armor caleed
TacForce, produced by GDW? I have a chance to get a copy, and was wondering if
anyone could recommend it or recommend against it.
Thanks,

Man... Vaguely. I owned it, but I ended up selling it.
If I remember correctly it was fairly chart heavy. It was also reminisicent of
the original Striker game (not in the way the rules worked, but in the way the
rules were laid out).
It's way out of date. It predates the Abrams and T-80. If you're
interested in playing some Cold War type games you could use it, but you'd
have to extrapolate weapons for modern stuff.
It wasn't as fast paced as, say, DSII. If you were interested in modern Micro
Armour games, I'd recommend playing one of the modern DSII variants that are
out there, instead.
Thanks for the advice. My main interest in it lays in the fact that I
absolutely love T2K V2.2, and was hoping I could use it for large-scale
battles in a T2K setting.

Then you probably want a copy of Combined Arms. That's a more modern set
of rules in both senses of the word, and fairly similar in some concepts
to DS2. But if you already have DS2...

I was just hoping that because it was a GDW product, it would provide for a
more seamless conversion of RPG characters into a larger scale battle. It's
not an urgent need, I was just curious about how well TacForce fit the bill.
Thanks to all.

Combined Arms is a GDW product, and it's from much closer to T2K
(publication-wise) than TacForce was. There's a lot to like about the
Combined Arms/Command Decision series, the infantry and morale rules I
particularly like.

It's an old, old GDW product. It doesn't fit _Twilight 2000_ at all. It
came out around the time of the original Traveller, and it wasn't really a fit
for that, either.

Check out eBay for it. It pops up every now and again. I know, as I sold my
copy of Combined Arms and Command Decision (the WW2 version of same) on eBay a
couple of months ago.

Yeah, that's where I saw TacForce.

One nice thing was the scenario generator. Worked well with Combined Arms
(Command Decision).
