As you may or may not remember I asked this list for opinions about what makes
a good miniature manufacturers website a few months ago. You did that and I
was grateful for the comments. (although some of you did take the topic way to
far:)
Well I can now reveal what I have done so far on the website and I'm asking
again for your opinions. Please remember that I am effectively doing this site
for nothing as part of a college project, and that my web skills are still in
their infancy. Still have a look and tell me if it is the sort of site to make
you want to buy figures. Which lets face it has to be the whole purpose.
The site is currently at: http://www.germwarfare.co.uk/pendraken/
If people feel that they don't want to get into a discussion about this then
please e-mail off list with any comments.
Once again thanks for any input.
Looks nice!
Good use of graphics (repeating, match to color scheme).
The Navigation bar on the left is very nice. But I would add a "Home" or "Top"
option so that viewews can go back to the main page with 1 click.
Obviously, there are broken links.
Some people will complain about the pop-up window for the
pictures of the miniatures. But I think that this is OK as it allows me to
view the miniatures and the miniature list at the same time.
Some will complain about the use of javascript. You may
want to offer the viewer a non-scripted version of the
site.
Good color scheme.
Anyway, by 2 credits worth.

Hiya,
Nice site! Here are some suggestions:
The "Back" buttons should be labeled as such -- it isn't intuitively
obvious to everyone that an arrow pointing to the left is a "Back" button.
On the Fantasy page, I'd make the list of figure races go alphabetically down,
not across. IMO it's easier to read that way.
On the page for each pack of figures, I'd like to see all of the figures in
the pack. If that's not possible because there's a random selection of figures
in each pack, then it should say so somewhere on the web page.
All in all, it looks nice & clean, and easy to navigate. Good work!

I'll be succinct.
I like your choice of background pattern and colors, the fact that the
descriptive text has no background behind it and thus is easy to read, and the
graphics used in the navigation bar.
My suggestions towards areas to reconsider or change:
* I'd prefer to see the miniatures category (i.e. 19th Century, sci-fi,
etc.) in the title area for easier finding when the user comes back to the
page after switching applications or a user's attention has been distracted
elsewhere. * I dislike combined pictures of products. When clicking upon a
sample picture for an item users don't always remember product numbers and
thus sometimes have to review previous pages to determine which part of the
picture applies to the item in question.
Of course, I'm not a web designer so please take my comments with
consideration to that angle.
I hope this was of help.
Very nice. My first pass with a dial-up connection loaded quickly.
Comments: Double check spelling and usage. (Don't get caught with a correctly
spelled word in the wrong place!)
More later.
