How is that off-topic? Spiffy miniatures are *never* off-topic, by god!

And that tripod is *damned* spiffy, by the way.

That looks mean! Produce some variations on that theme and you'll have a very
nice looking force.

Well I have made a small scout version and one with 6 short legs and 2 claws
at the front. I didn't want to mention it all until I know whether or not
molds can be made of them.

I guess it's watch this space!

Too damn cool. BTW, what scale is it (and how big is
it supposed to be in that scale)? If it's 6/15/25mm
it IS on topic, as long as you post DS or SG stats for
it. . .

I presume it would be either HEL or DFFG-armed (either
would be described by a 19th century commentator as a ray of heat).

Very nice - how big is it, and how soon can I order some? :>

Don't worry about it - cool Martian tripods are more on-topic than most
of the threads going on right now...

The miniature is 65mm tall The main body is roughly 25mm x 35mm

I made it with 6mm scale in mind.

Personally I'd go with DFFG since the book never describes the ray not
managing to destroy something. Which is my battlefield experience of a DFFG:)
And besides HEL's have too much range, you have to tower over the target
menacingly before you destroy it!

As soon as I discover whether or not it can be cast by the miniature
manufacturer who currently has it;)

OK, sounds reasonable.

Well the only idea of scale in the book that I could remmber was the mention
of the Tripod towering over the houses.
My interpretation on that was 30-40ft two storey house therefore 60ft+
Tripod.

The scout version I did was about 40mm high so that one can tower over the
outhouse:)

Sounds about right.

That sounds like it might be interesting in Stargrunt as a recon drone as
well.
