What news about water on Mars? I usually follow science news with interest,
but apparently this didn't make it to my corner of the world. Got more details
or a website?

I like the fact that the news about water on the surface of Mars "leaked"

Arghh! Someone beat me to the punchline. Well, just for that, I will douse you
with hydroxyl acid!

I believe the process is widely know. Any good chemistry book should have it
listed in the chapter on "nomenclature."

P.S. OK, now I've gone as far off-topic as I dare.

I really should get myself a TV set in the office ;-)
It was on the German evening news.

As all teenagers know, hydrogen hydroxide is only dangerous when mixed with
soap.... ;-)

You also should never use it to dilute alcoholic drinks ;-)

No, no, no... It's _Hydronium_ Hydroxide; remember, the stuff is
partially ionic, and dissociates into H3O+ and OH- ions when hydrated
and/or in aqueous solution (55.5 molar concentration). <g>

Other Cautions: The substance is highly adictive withdraw causeing death in 3
days. The compound can disolve a wide range of substances and depending upon
these solutes can exhibit a wide range PHs from extreme acid to extreme base.

Dr John Knowland, one of my lecturers and a world expert on skin cancer, told
us it was one of the main causes of DNA damage, and DNA damage causes cancer.
What's more, it can undergo heterolytic fission to produce not one but *two*
free radicals, and free radicals can cause cancer too. Did i mention that it
is involved in hundreds, if not thousands, of known biochemical reactions
which *break down the molecules which compose the human body*? it can, for
instance, react with harmless, natural peptides to produce oxoacids and
ammonia, a strong alkali; acids and alkalis can
both cause severe burns to the skin - think what they can do *inside*
your body!

As a teenager and a gamer, I object to your implication that DHMO is dangerous
to us when mixed with soap.

I like to be as clean as QE1, and I wash once a month whether I need it or not
