Does anyone have a few snowspeeders and laser towers from the Battle on Ice
Planet Hoth kit that they would like to sell/trade/give away? I need
two of each. Thanks, Jed Docherty

Checked out two in my area (Los Angeles) and found nothing. Is this the same
KayBee that's at all the malls or is there another chain by the same name?

It is and it isn't.
Toy Liquidators is the discount arm of KayBee. Prices there are often (but not
always) significantly lower than under the KayBee sign.
On several recent visits, I almost bought a copy (or several) of the Battle of
Hoth set ($4.99, as above). But I was unable to determine the *size* of the
vehicles and figures. Can someone
who does have it help out, here: What is (are) their scale(s)/size(s)?
Close to 10, 15, or 20mm? Close to HO, 1/144, or ??? Maybe just
actual figure/vehicle dimensions (including/excluding bases, if any)?

Size is relative, I've used the bits and pieces of Hoth and Rebel Base for all
kinds of stuff. However the figures were probably meant to be
1/300th
roughly so 6mm or microarmor scale. Perfect for Dirtside or Battle Tech. But
usable for FT where the items become whatever you like from escort to batle
cruiser depending on the size of other ships you are using. Don't forget to
look at Micro Machines while you are at it.
It is the same chain, tho I have been using the one in the Outlet mall near
me.

I scaled these out a while ago for an article in Ragnarok, The Journal of the
SFSFW (great mag - if you haven't seen it check it out at
http://wkweb5.cableinet.co.uk/steve.blease/SFSFW.Games.html). I get the
following: AT-AT at 101mm long is 1/154 scale, X -Wing (with folded
wings) at
49mm is 1/255, snowspeed at 37mm is 1/143. From the Rebel Base kit the
snowspeeder at 28mm is 1/189, X-Wing (with folded wings at 49mm is
1/255,
Y-wing without tail at 50mm is 1/250, Millenium Falcon at 145mm is
1/184, and
Rebel Transport at 270mm is 1/333. The figures are about 11mm from base
to top of head. Jed
