> My first Nikon SLR came with a 50mm. I'd go for a 35mm to 70mm now. My slr usually has my 28-70 mm zoom fitted most of the time. Of course, I don`t usually use my slr nowadays. Most of the time the digital is used due to the convenience factor, lack of time to see the finished picture (get it home, upload it, print out with paint package). I was sold on my digital when the first time I used it (at a family weading), one of the realitives has a stain on the coat due to the little sprogs spilling the drink. 5 mins with the paint package, stain gone (it was that easy and quick). Plus the fact you don`t have to print the pics out sreight away, instead you can just keep them as infomation until you want them (3 cd of backup pics at the moment, how much have I saved on developing). The only thing to remember about digital, is that your printer will require photo inks (inkjet printer) and photo paper (both expensive). As to using both paint packages and slr cameras, I used and learnt both in collegde.
