Fighters and big ships are two separate scales, as well. Can't remeber for
sure, but I think it's 1/500 and 1/2000. Confused? I think they're just
getting started. ;->=

As far as other scales go and what they mean, it's a holy war, and I plead
agnostic.

I assume the Jovian Chron. humanoids are fighter scale?

I'm not much on following the pack anyway. For DS II I use figs that are much
closer in size to GHQ stuff than the figs that Battletech, and even

GZG, pass off as 1/285th-1/300th (Mine's much smaller). In fact much of
it
IS modern GHQ, plus some C-in-C Sci Fi.

Speaking of the JC miniatures.... I'm looking for something smaller to use as
exosfor Lightning Strike. The ships are nice for resin, but I don't want to
spend the kind of money needed to build flights of the
'full scale' Lightning Strike exos ($7-9$ US each). I've played one game

with Josh Qualtieri's 15mm samurai as exos and that size mini fit in
very well with the ships. So I'm hoping for something 15-20mm tall and
looking anime inspired.

Any suggestions?

Have you considered the Ral Partha figure packs of BattleDrek Protomechs? Some
are way funky, but there are several designs.

It don't know if this helps but there's always GF-009 Mecha Fighters
(pack of 6) from GZG.

Well, after a trip through google and a lot of browsing I find that the protos
look about right, although I couldnt find clear pictures of the PA figs. Most
notably, I have no idea how big these little guys are. Any

ideas?

Not to the mm, but IIRC, they are to scale with the RP mech figs, and come
about to the knee on them. I'd say 15-25mm high, with the PA being even

smaller.

I think the 'suits, fighters, and gunboats(?) are the 1/500th, while the
others are 1/whatevertheheckitis. I'm with Michael: pretty stuff, but
costs are a bit daunting. I've been lucky on eBay and some shops that didn't
seem to give the system long enough to catch. My gain.

Well, I'm certain this has gone TOO long OT; DP9 has a fair site for more
info. Better yet, they won't be pulling faint memories out of their nether
regions as I've been doing.

Just as bad as the price is the scale. A flight of four of those things in
formation is going to be awfully crowded. And they totally overpower the
ships, at 20mm tall they'd be just right based on mech:ship scales from
Gundam. Big enough to punch the bridge in, but not as big as the bloody ship
(those would be the Mobile Armor).
