Does anyone know of a good online source of pictures of WWI tanks or Civil War
ironclads? I'm working on scratchbuilding a steam powered tank for an upcoming
Colonial game, and I am in dire need of inspiration. Since this
is about as off-topic as it comes (unless someone wants to theorize
about a steampunk supplement for the various GZG games...) it would probably
be
best if you e-mail me directly.

Thanks, all!

You need to get yourself over to "Major General Tremorden Rederring's
Colonial Wargames Page" at <http://zeitcom/majgen/>

Lots and lots of really cool landsteamers & similar Colonial-era
pseudo-tech.

The reason I'm replying to the list is because it also has a very cool
scenery section - loads of 'how we do it' articles, and great photos. A
first-class resource even for those of us who aren't into Colonial-era
gaming.

Besides, everyone loves landsteamers, right?:)

The Major General's page is directly responsible for this madness, and I
recommend it wholeheartedly to one and all. The terrain pages are particularly
useful. I'm working in 15mm, and I'm pretty sure I know what I want to do
here...if I can only figure out a way to add rivets of the proper size to
styrene sheet without going mad, I'll be mostly set.

Right - sorry about that. I'll change the various links on my website

If you can stand the insanity level required: but a box of straight pins a
good pair of pliers, a pair of tweezers, and GOOD wire cutters. Cut the heads
off the pins, leaving a tiny stub. Press the stub into the surface with a dab
of glue (you may have to bore a tiny hole in styrene. You justhave to set your
lines of rivets and then take a week to recover from your blood loss. It is
akin only to throwing yourself full force upon 25oo 25mm pikemen woith piano
wire pikes.

Or you can use tiny drops of tacky glue and then put your primer and paint
over the top of it to keep them from flaking off easily.
