Well I got the job I went for.
It's remarkable to think that an Historical wargamer employed a
sci-fi/fantasy one!
Could this mean the other cold war is truely over:)

Congrats. Think about it this way: Better to fire a scifi/fantasy
gamer and convert them back to the one true path than to hire some Luddite who
doesn't game and have to teach them all about little lead guys.

Didn't you mean "hire"?

Double congrats, but don't forget the paper fantasy stuff could work well for
historical skirmish. Encourages you to keep up the good work, no?

*sheesh* Can't get away with NOTHING with an editor around...
Oh, wait, I never could before...
Fortunately, we DID know what was meant. Plenty of flame wars when that
wasn't the case. ;->=

Hire, fire, same thing.:)
Its what I get for posting over only a semi-reliable wireless
connection from the middle of a conference during the boring talks.
But yes, hire.

There really wasn't much of a cold war. There are some historical
gamers who are rabidly anti-scifi or anti-fantasy (more with the
latter, actually; I've met a few online who are very religious and
fantasy has "magic" which they consider "anti-Christian).
However, a recent set of posts on rec.games.miniatures.historical
showed that a good deal of historical players play sci-fi as well.
Many also play fantasy.
I think you'd probably find, particularly in the Warhammer crowd,
that there are more fantasy/sci-fi players who refuse to play another
game system -- let alone anything historical -- than the other way
around.
