Actually judging from the pictures of your forge I think it would be adequate
for forging swords. The smith I worked with used a forge that (from what I can
tell from the pics) is actually smaller than what you have, and he made
everything up to bastard swords (42" billet IIRC) with it. The only tricky
part is heating it up to hardening temp along the whole length.

This is not to say that it is easy to forge a sword (regardless of forge
size). There's an incredible amount of knowledge and skill involved in
producing something usable. I don't pretend to be an expert on
sword-making, but I know enough to know how much I don't know.

Come on guys, I expect this on the Oldtools list (hand woodworking, no dead
electrons) but on a GZG list? Wargamers don't have time for anything other
than painting or the occasional game.:)
