Well, in the world of 2183, ancestors will be even more mixed up than they are
now. You could easily have an NSL commander named Mehmet Demirkan. Or, even
better: Ali Müller or Fritz Arsladoglou. Or a ship named after such a
commander from the past (our future). Note all the
funny Austro-Hungarian ship names. The same for the FSE or NAC, of
course.

And it is extra inspiration for FMA scenarios: various ethnic groups at
each others throats. Add in colonists/terran animosities and you can
have pretty wild mixes.
