Thats how they appear on the drwings I have, unfortunately due to where they
are marked they could be flared to fire in parrallel with the axis of the ship
or mounted to fire on a 90 degree broadside.

They use a 95 degree arc to the side for pre-dreadnoughts. While this
could be somewhat accounted for by manuever, it does suggest that the main lay
of the torpedo is perpendicular to the travel of the ship. Assuming they're
research is any better than ours so far. ;->=
