According to a computer show I was watching yesterday (thursday night), The US
bombing is so skillfull, that the Iraci Internet provider in Bagdad is still

The show host called up their web site.

Is this cool or what?

God is an Iron*. I've given some advice to a guy with the blogname of Salam
Pax
in Baghdad. See http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/

I referred him to the Israeli Defence Force Homefront Command Web site
http://www.idf.il/homefront/english/ns-welcome.stm
as being the best general source of civil defence information.

The Arabic (!!!) version is at

And Friday night (US time) to Sunday afternoon is usually quieter than
weekdays anyway. Either some people don't have web access at home, or else
possibly they have a life (I know, it sounds unlikely, but...)

Rumours of "having a life" have been greatly exaggerated.

Well, it was 0630 to 2250 PST. Trying not to stay glued to the tube.

Sorry, I was at GAMA for four days, and then my 'net porn research was backed
up... The only gaming I have done is product demos I particpated in at GAMA:
100 Kingdoms fantasy TTG, War Machine Steampunk TTG, Den of Thieves card game,
and Fudge rpg. I will have full reports of it
all on my site by next weekend. Hopefully I can bully my brother-in-law
to a game of Dirtside Thursday night. He'll probably whine about 40K, but you
never know...

Married, two kids, one special needs, Hell House, no handyman genes, a full
time job, miniatures to paint, scenarios to plan, games to play, acronyms to
explain to Beth when I post, my kids want a graden

Once a month * I get to play at one of the local shops - usually
(sssh, don't tell anyone) a fellow's ongoing Nappies campaign in, <furtive
glance, whisper> 25 mm figures. I really need to get those 6 mm historicals
ready for a game... Since the local BMHGA [Big Muddy Historical Gaming
Alliance] club is historicals only (except during cons where it is anything
historical or anything Miniatures) I have to get the SF and Fantasy done at
cons locally. Or solo...

That's a good link... Here's another oddity of Shrub's Crusade:
http://www.agonist.org/archives/000801.html#000801

Oh, and weapons inspection attempts continue, despite official
non-compliance & an ongoing war:
http://www.cynatech.demon.co.uk/
.. by a creative group of UK peace protestors...

I'm currently without cable TV; using the internet as your major news source
can be a surreal experience. Google "Iraq war" and you never, ever know what's
coming up...

Oh, and a very, very good multimedia presentation by the CBC on propaganda,
information warfare and similar:

I wish to state for the record that I'm only following doctrine, i.e. not
playing fair or putting myself in any danger if there's any alternative. I'm
sure Massive Retaliation will follow when he comes back, anyway.

He is probably in fine form. How many weeks has he had to "hurry up and wait"?

Other than certain armies "...3 speeds in reverse..." jokes, I thought it *
always * was "...hurry up and wait..."! It's bad form to start counting until
at least week six.

P.S.

Yes, I *do * know that Oklahoma was not the first choice of the Cherokee
people.... <grin>

And I have heard every possible joke from my Mexican-American family and
friends about how the Spanish (my mother's maiden name was Aniba) didn't know
how to cook (among other themes) until they came to the new
world...

It's nice to have goals in life... LOL!

Although I thought Persian became (via several changes) Iran. I know that we
are moving fast in Iraq but not that fast!
