Subject: [OT] A neat product review
Hi all This perhaps esp applies to those wanting to run any sort of GZG-RPG over the Internet. I have no affiliation with these guys, but what they seem to have developed is an ideal tool to replace the tabletop. I'm even curious if, with modifications, you could use it for SG2 (with squads instead of characters). It would work for FMA. It doesn't remove the referee, it just provides a chat environment, a way to send maps (including piecewise revelation to the PCs and fog of war), a Roger Wilco voice link for those that want it, and ability to talk to other PCs or the GM privately, do in character and out of character actions, and do some other neat things. The GM can store narrations, maps, encounters, NPCs, etc. It's pretty neat. http://www.RPGRealms.com The product includes the iPC and the iGM (PC and GM modules) plus some other utilities. At the very least, an SG2 gamer could use it to share maps, to roll dice, and to chat with another. I assume with the right bitmaps, so could the FT crowd. And there seem to be some tie ins with Traveller (they have Kinunuir and Research Station Gamma done over into their format) and now with Judges Guild. But this is only one system it could be used with. I myself plan to use it with my AD&D, but I might also try it with some GZG-RPG or FMA in the future.
