So the US/Scottish breakoff thing has been done to death. I'll desist
on that angle. The Irish Republic post was interesting, I'll have to look into
that. Unfortunately, my knowledge of other cultures is limited, and I don't
want to nark off someone from some country by misrepresenting them in space.
Hell, the only places I've been outside North America are Amsterdam and
Turkey. My American splinter group was based on a group in my own personal
Gameverse, in which the US and Canada fell apart into several countries.

The one I take most personal interest in is one based in the Pacific
Northwest, called Cascadia. I had been thinking of moving it into the
Tuffleyverse. Cascadians would not be
Americans-disgruntled-with-the-Brits
so much as they would be
Northwesterners-Disgruntled-with-American/Canadian/NAC-"ruination"-of-th
eir-beautiful-homeland
who want a new, green and mountainous place to start over. But as I said,
if NAC-splintering is taboo these days, I'll keep thinking. I'll come
up with something eventually.

As for the comment about Oerjan being able to help me develop the speed
tactic, that would be nice, but as I said in the original post, that was NOT
my point. I was just confessing my bleak past in general. I in no way assume
to evin BEGIN to understand how I'll play FT once I get started.

And Vector sounds more fun to me. This history major CAN do math.

So? I've never been to Greece. Whoever's doing the Ghurkas has never been to
Nepal. And the NI guru lives in Baltimore. Half these countries don't have
wargamers so they'll never know. (They do have
websites--run a search on Yahoo for "Armenian
Genocide" and see what happens.)

It's not taboo. It's just been done. Quick hint in
dealing with me: 75%+ of what I post is
tongue-in-cheek. Except for the anti-Picquet stuff.

That's what the library is for. Pick out a few language groups--not
necessarily groups that live together on Earth--and look them up. You
could mix Sinhalese, Xhosa, Quechua, and Georgians (Caucausus), for example.
You don't have to become an expert first try, but you might want to read
enough about them to see if you like them.

Another one that is already done but not posted - Native People's
Circle.
***But** given the diverse nature of the Native Americans/American
Indians/Amerindians/whatever my Fathers' ancestors are being called
currently I think we have room to allow several groups. I have copied mine
pretty much on the SE tribes (Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, and et.
al.)
with a thin layer of NE tribes and some dressing from the Plains cultures
(and the war practices of the PNW nations - ouch!)

I took that idea and worked out the concept of one

Agreed! Only The NPC (Native People's Circle) found private funding to
buy the transportation services (plus another one of those lip-service
treaties (only this time by the NPC)

The divergent Latino group the LLP (League of Latino Peoples) abandoned the
LLAR guys for being too "...hooked on Earth..." and were part of the Financing
of the NPC move (in consideration for their own continent on the planet, of
course) and have a (several times honored both ways) defensive alliance with
the NPC versus the PHR (People's Holy Republic), the RRR (Royal Russian
Republic), and the NEA (New European Association.) "Our" little corner of the
universe has all the "...I thought we would get away from everyone else..."
types. And those pesky Incorprotated Japanese Kingdoms guys! Plus the
"merchants" of the sector, the South Asian Imperium.

Jeez, time to publish the 'local history' I guess.

Okay, I need a 'star or two' for each nation in my campaign and to get
into the GZG_Pedia, obviously. The farther out from the Kravak the
better... I have my own aliens to worry about. <grin>

Brain, I love your idea. Compltely different from mine so we can both coexist
with out duplicating each other's work. Contact me off list and we can
exchange notes about these groups. The NPC (not having NAC
support, fell back on GMS/H technology) will be the flip side to your
group - The NPC lets the LLP do a lot of their interfacing with the
"Anglo-White" groups like the NAC now that they have their own
homelands. You could be the Crow to my Sioux... well, maybe not quite that way
but you would represent those who worked with the NAC and I would be the group
that mixed elemments of the Trqaditrionals' dislike of the NAC's prior history
with (very) limited coopersation. BTW, I am having a
senior moment and won't be near a web browser until tomorrow - The
Thousand Nations represents.... who again?

What (if any) regional cultures are going to be the basis of your CNP?

Who do I contact about getting my group into the 'Pedia?

Gracias,

Thanks.

Jerry, what's involved in getting a group (or groups) in the
'GZG_Encyclopedia'?
