Just wondering what some of the old RP OGRE minis are worth, in particular the
PE Fencer, some howitzers, etc., if anyone has any idea.

Since they're back in production by Steve Jackson at reasonable prices,
probably as listed on his site.

Exceptions are the RP stuff that has been re-sculpted. This might have
some additional rarity value. Combine Mobile Howitzers, Heavy Tanks and
Super Heavy Tanks got a minor re-work of the detail. Combine Light Tanks
are a completely new figure. The Mk-IV is still not released, but will
be new too, so the old one is worth a fair bit. All the PanEuro is the same
(in fact, the Fencer now has an alternate turret apart from the old one), as
is the Combine GEV and Light GEV, and I believe the Howitzer too.

Of course much of the Combine RP stuff was either never released, or rare.

I just picked up a Deluxe Ogre pack. If you are going to buy it just do so for
the miniatures. The rules are the hex based ones.

Fortunately my S.O. was declared the winner of the Ogre Macrotures game and
ended up with a set of Mini's rules. She thought she won because she was the
only woman. I had to point out that the GM awarded based on sportsmanship and
she switched to the side that was losing when a couple people had to bail. Of
course she was rolling all our good dice rolls and took the luck to the other
team.:)

Tie game.

Which is definitely worthwhile in and of itself!...though I prefer
the PE units that come with Deluxe-GEV.

SJG reports that they're hard at work on OGRE Miniatures 2nd Ed. though it'll
be some time before we see it.

Their miniatures page <http://www.sjgames.com/miniatures/> has some
very cool pictures in the old news section, including the Marco-scale
GEV, a truck mini, and the Fencer-B turret.

It's nice having the small Ogre ruleset, but I don't get the same
feel from a hex-based game. When I buy a set of rules with mini's
I want to play "measure it with a tape" type game.

The miniatures are very nice, the Combine GEV's look more like Grav vehicles.
That's probably what I'll use them for in DSII.

I'm also going to be odd, I'm going to order the DS rules Friday, I'll
probably immediately retrofit them with SGII armour penetration and damage
rules as I really like this system and am not thrilled with chit drawing
systems.

Hi Roger!

I am already working on that. I am in playtest 8 of my Full Metal Ogre
crossover rules (http://www.ftsr.org/ds2/multiverse/fmaogre.asp).

It also uses my FMA Enhancements for Dirtside II
(http://www.ftsr.org/ds2/techlib/ds2fma.asp).

You are welcome to join theplaytest group on Yahoo at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fullmetalogre/

I hope to run a game at GZGECC V.

OGRE Miniatures (SJG 7203) is hexless, though they are working on a
2nd ed. (which will probably appear right along with FT3 ;-)
