Hi all,
A small request for help....
I've been approached by a writer for a games magazine who wants to do a
general article on GZG; no problem here, but they need (quickly)
some colour photos in high resolution (suitable for high-quality
magazine publication) of some of our minis - anything will do, SG
figures, DS vehicles, and especially one or two of FT ships (preferably the
newer fleets like the UN or the Japs, but any would
do).
The problem is that with the Xmas mailorder rush in full swing, I don't have
time to get anything specially taken for this (deadline
for the magazine is very soon - well before Xmas - so I need to get
this sorted within the next few days) - so, I wondered if anyone out
there in list-land had anything suitable that they'd be prepared to
have used in the article.
Now, these MUST be very high quality paintjobs, and good quality photos in
good focus, with decent lighting and backgrounds (printing resolution will be
1600 x 1200 dpi I believe). FT ships photoshopped onto starscapes would also
be fine..... anybody think they might be able to help?
Thanks in advance,

Dunno if they count as "high quality paintjobs" or not, or if the backgrounds
are suitable, but feel free to use some of my pics if they're usable:
Starships:

25mm:

6mm:

Click on the pics a couple of times to get to the original, high-res
photos. The originals were taken at 1712 x 1368, so they should be OK for
small printed photos.
Agis www.agisn.de used to have some skillfully painted FT ships, IF and UN I
believe. I didn't like the IF colors he picked but he's a good painter.
www.stargrunt.ca has a gallery with some good gropo pics.

Hi Jon!
Unfortunately I don't think my humble skills would be suitable, but always in
quest for good painting schemes I visit some excellent pages,
which I would like to reccomend - you still have to ask the owners, but
I do not think they would refuse:
http://www.stargrunt.ca/gallery_modeling/gallery_modeling_index.htm
For Fullthrust: Agis Neugebauer's KraVak and UNSC - not on his site
anymore, but you still can find the pictures under:
http://zappa.brainiac.com/spaceship/spaceship4.html#fullthrustmini
There are also some other excellent sites - if I remember them, I'll
send them to you via PM.
Hope You find suitable ones..

I'd say they are, at least to my untrained eye. I particularly compliment you
on choosing color schemes
& painting styles appropriate to each genre/miniature.

Go Jon!

Ummmmmm.....you used the word "suitable"....ummmmmm...
> Now, these MUST be very high quality paintjobs, and good quality
Ummmmmm...you used the phrase "very high quality" in conjunction
with the word "paintjobs". That disqualifies me right there! :-(
And the few photos I have of GZG minis are in not great lighting. <sigh>
I cannot help in this one, unfortunately.

I just put up a quick-and-dirty page with some of my more recent mini
images. On that page I have three images of my son's fleet - an IJN
fleet pack. The paint scheme was designed to appeal to a three year old (i.e.
a bit garish), but it's the best I have to offer at this point on topic.

I'll eventually put more up here.

Did you get my mail (sent offlist)?
Jon, I have some shots of a UN CA I have painted up I could send on to you.
I believe I have the original 1-2 meg raw JPGs (some are or could be
cropped
to a size of 200+K if desired) and possibly a 10 meg TIFF as well (no
promises thought). They are yours if you want (and I can find them on the new
computer.
Now that I have my DSL service working again, I could actually manage to send
them without tying up my system a good part of the night.:)
