Hi guys,
After much frantic work, the promised November releases for the UN fleet
are now out (plus a couple of new bits that we hadn't announced) - the
mould was made today, and I've been putting the first ones together this
evening. Tomorrow I'll try to get them photographed and see if some kind
person (hi, Tim....) will put 'em up on the web.
NOW AVAILABLE (in the UK anyway) are:
FT-1104 UNSC Patrol Cutters (Frigate size) x 2 £1.95
FT-1105 UNSC Destroyers (DD) x 2 - Lake class £2.25
FT-1106 UNSC Light Cruiser (CL) - Mountain class £1.95
FT-1108 UNSC Heavy Cruiser (CH) - River class £2.75
FT-1110 UNSC Battleship (BB) - Luna class £4.25
Plus one new one for the IF:
FT-1023 Islamic Federation Corvettes (CT) x 3 £1.95
We should have all these in stock for Bifrost on Sunday, but we may not
have very many of them - get there early.... :-)
When will they be available over here in the US?

That's one for KR to answer (depends on how quickly he can get them into
distribution after we ship the masters over to him), but in the meantime we
can supply direct if you want. A number of list members can vouch for
ordering direct from the UK - it is neither difficult nor expensive.

For what it's worth...

Just to reassure those North American list members who may not be familiar
with ordering from the UK - I ordered a big pile of SG figures from Jon
a
month or two ago. They arrived safe and sound in about five days -
that's
door-to-door UK to Toronto, Canada by airmail including a weekend!
Great service, and with that order, I didn't get charged any customs duties.
Just get Jon to write "Metal and Plastic Toys" on the customs labels -
for some reason the Customs people seem to take issue with this product being
called "figurines" or things like that. I've had shipments get hit with a very
high customs duty, when the customs people decide that I am importing an art
object or something... Not that the figs aren't works of art, of
course... ;-)
Maybe it's different with US customs, but from my experience, getting figs
from the UK is fast and very reasonably priced. Plus you can order INDIVIDUALS
and that is great when filling out units...

I just got Space Dreadnought 3000 (review coming, just typing my notes, $20.63
with shipping) from POP Enterprises (forgot to bookmark
it :-( in 5 days. Order Wed night (-8 hours from England) so first
thing Thursday for POP, received it Monday. So US Customs must be on the stick
too.
And in short, SD3K is a well-balanced, remarkably fast-playing
strategic boardgame kit. And 55 new ship minis on the market is a Good Thing.

Just a note, they are not actually "new" minis, they are the Pendraken ships
that have been available for some years. I'm not sure exactly what the deal is
between Pendraken and Kallistra (who publish the rules and now seem to sell
the ships at all UK shows), Kallistra may have bought the range or it may just
be the same guys trading under a new name, but the minis are the same.
