Hi all,
Further to the last few news posts, I've just assembled the first production
casting of the new UNSC Superdreadnought, and it looked so good that I whipped
the digital camera out and took a few pics straight away! Would anyone like to
host the pics on their website for everyone to look at? (Ducks and runs to
avoid getting flattened by the stampede....). If you
can handle the pics as Jpegs, Mail me off-list ASAP and I'll email them
to you.
Jon,
I can display them, but will not be able to do it until this weekend as I'm
leaving after work tonight for a little racing.

PS: I'll do the same with the Islamics ASAP, but at the moment the assembled
ones are up at the workshop. I'll pick them up tonight for taking the pix.

Good Lord, and it stands on one base!

For some of the other large ones, yes. The smaller classes will have just two
fins, or none. BTW, just to clarify the size of the SDN, it is 110mm from bow
to drives!

to clarify I've annotated the pic at

110mm is AKA 4.3" or there abouts for non metric users.

How about one of the "standard" miniatures. I would think an FSE SDN would
give you a good idea of scale, since it is currently the largest ship. Or one
of the myriad of destroyers.

I'm not buying any mini's where a human is needed for scale, no matter how
nice it is.:)
It doesn't look as sharp, but a ruler with metric and imperial scales would be
perfect.

Jon,
For the other ships you plan to take pix of, what about including, say at the
base, a small coin or paperclip or something else that is generally recognized
by most people for scale comparison? This is something that is done quite
often in cave photography, when the photographer is shooting a formation, but
since you have absolutely no sense of scale, a carabiner or some other small
but recognizable object is placed in the picture so the viewer can get a sense
of scale (if the thing is huge, then the object
added to the pic is generally human ;-)

Good point, though I think most people on the list know what size a standard
plastic hex base is, and that is what the model is sitting on! (Though on a
metal stand post....)
