Roughly two years ago, my mother passed. I pretty much fell apart, and my
sister did most of the duty. She hates me to this day.

So, yes, some of us do understand.

Thanks Doug….. much appreciated. I'm lucky in that with a very
supportive and practical Better Half, plus my brother and sis-in-law to
share the load, between the four of us we are managing to get all the
arrangements and necessary paperwork done without too much hassle….
it's just the sheer volume of it all…..

Don't worry, Doug, I can still find a few moments here and there to check list
and personal emails and even respond to some of them! A lot
of what I have to do is by phone and/or online anyway, so I'm here in
the office with the computer in front of me…..  ;-)

Reminds me of the joke about the guy who prayed one Sunday in Church for
God to help him win the lottery - he didn't win, of course, so next

I'm another sympathiser, Jon, though in my case it happened almost 40
years ago. I was at work (first full-time job) when I got a phone call

Thank you Doug, very good of you to post that and to keep me informed!
Everyone is being very understanding, which is great - it certainly
makes things easier. Once the funeral (Tuesday) is over and done, things can
start to get back to normal here.
