Hi all,
A little bit of advance news - we've decided to go ahead with making a
few new packs of 15mm SG figures at last! Under way as I write are: Islamics
(there will be a helmeted pack and a Keffiyeh pack), New Israelis and ScanFed
(in winter kit). Our sculptor is presently working on one figure from each
pack for our approval, once this is OK'd then the rest of the
packs will be done - hopefully we'll get them out around the end of
July.
As soon as they are available, they'll be straight up on the webstore for
ordering.
So, all those of you who wanted them so badly, warm up your credit
cards..... ;-)
Oh, and we haven't forgotten about the other 15mm requests - OUDF,
Phalons,
Slammers etc - provided this current batch sell well, there will be
more!

Hmm... And just when I was thinking of getting _out_ of 15mm SG2. Of
course, still no 15mm Phalons.
What you need, Jon, are more vehicles. There's a real dearth of 15mm
sci-fi
vehicles. I'm using modern day plastic Roco Marders for APCs.

Enough, I hope, to put a dent in the minimum number you need to
sell in order to make it worthwhile? :-)

<g> Chuck it all and get 6mm. Okay, 6mm skirmish does look a *little* odd, but
that way you get to use the same figures for everything from
battalion-level actions on down.

It's already warm... but you'll be making it hotter still!

Oh, they will...
While I'm thinking about it, this is a good chance to advertise that my club
(Maidstone Wargames Society) is putting on a 15mm SG2 demonstration
game at this weekend's Bifrost show in Birmingham. I don't know if we'll
get the chance to record the events and write up a proper AAR, but there
will certainly be photos and a page on our club website. It's a shame that we
won't be able to use Jon's new figures but that won't stop me buying a load
for future events...

I hope so! Doing the ScanFed in the first batch is a bit of a gamble, seeing
as they didn't attract exactly the biggest amount of votes when we asked about
them a while back, but they are just something I felt like getting done.....
Still, I've got some ideas in the back of my mind for some ScanFed ships
(VIKINGS IN SPAAAAAACE!!!), so maybe that'll boost interest!
I totally agree with Allan here. For 15mm versions of the Deimos and
the AV-6 would probably be enough to send me over the edge. In
fact, I have been working on scale drawings for the Deimos, but
the five free minutes I have a day are already taken ;-).

I do have quite a few 6mm vehicles. Not a lot of infantry, though, except for
some old GW Space Marine figures (which should still do rather well).

New Israelis! Man is there a discount for pre order?:) I'm looking for 9
squads to start:)

Hm... IIRC there were at least 30 pre-ordered packs of Phalons, and
quite a
few pre-orders for Slammers figures. What's the current count?
Also, is there anyone else than me who wants 6mm Phalon infantry?
Later,
Brigade models makes some vehicles in 15 mm - bug them now that you have
15 mm infantry to put "in" the APCs?

I was a little disappointed to see that the Phalons weren't in the current
mix, and their presence will depend on the sales of these current figures.

Not if there are no 6mm Phalon vehicles to go with them...

And they're quite nice vehicles, too. Especially that one AmFed
heavy grav tank they have... ;-)

G'day,

Is that an utterly unbiased opinion I see being voiced there?;)
I just got my copy of DS2, so now get to start collecting my 6MM SF figures. I
would happily buy Phalon as well as any other vehicles. What can I say, there
is no such thing as to many choices.

Now we've switched to resin for most of the larger vehicle hulls, I'm keen to
rapidly expand the vehicles range (making masters to be produced
in resin is sooo much easier than mastering them for metal). I'm
planning to upscale most of the rest of the 1/300th line eventually, I
just don't know in what order I'll do it.

Not as such, but we MIGHT do some sort of special launch offer on them when
they are ready (probably of the "buy x packs and get one free" type), so watch
this space......
I will not get into 15 mm SF, I will not get into 15 mm SF, I will not get...
Move over, Lion, this is my hidey hole... I will not get into 15 mm SF, I will
not...

Jon, this reminds me. These sound like good 15 mm versions of the Reviresco
Starguard rules Eli (one of the original Vacuum Viking lines) even though they
probably don't have the original Eli Baroque look I
suspect. Nothing like a 'bug-eyed helmet' on a 7 foot space raider in
'layered' armor to give you a pause...
Anyway, it's good too see some version of Vacuum Vikings back in SF (even if
they never left 25 mm due to Reviresco's tenacity.)
I hope people take this opportunity. I would if I used 15 mm figures as 15 mm
figures (and not 25 mm GM Mice...)
Gracias,
