I work for GEC-Marconi in Oz, and they have no such policy. Naturally,
you can't use the GMS system, but there's no restriction on what you do at
home using your own Internet Service Provider. If there was, we'd tell them

Well if we're getting into a contest of service providers, I paid stlg30

(Irish) for my account for this year from Indigo. Its going up to something a
little more sensible (for the company) next year.
The average cost here is about stlg15-stlg20 a month.

Anyhow, whats all this got to do with FT interesting though it might be to
swap prices...
