Subject: Newbie question on second Main drive hit

Greetings, When a ship takes a second hit on it's Main Drive does it continue
to move at it's present velocity or does it come to a complete stop? Thank
you.

It continues at its current velocity. Its momentum is not stopped by its loss
of drive power, only its ability to -change- its momentum.

And change of momentum means that you can't change course along with a fixed
velocity. A lucky NB x 2 hit on a capital ship means that the now exactly
predictable target gets all the SMs available within range next turn. A true
Missile Magnet. Assuming the tactical situation
requires/allows such targeting (if you are not counting ships destroyed
versus damaged or if ship loss is a minor factor in the scenario and the ship
exits the board next turn it may be 'last priority' as opposed to a scenario
when ship damage is critical and the ship is approaching beam range of your
troop transports.
