Subject: New GZG-ECC Scenario

So I was at work the other day and I only partially overheard a
conversation between two co-workers (I work at a callcenter). Evidently
the one was explaining that they had a joint replaced, and the only part of
their comment that I cought was when they mention haveing a 'Full Metal
Ankle'. Just the 'FMA', reference alone was enough to give me a good chuckle,
but when the idea flourished into a GZGECC scenario
of having the elderly go up against the injured/disabled, I broke out
laughing. Of course the curious glances of my coworkers, the idea of having to
try and explain the concept to them, as well as the idea of doing up the
miniatures for such a game was enough to almost bring me to tears.

Lends new meaning to "Combat Walker", doesn't it?

I'm having a hard time deciding which is more politically incorrect, the
combat-walker joke or the fact that I immediately started imagining how
an elderly person might somehow fabricate and attach close-combat
implements that would be concealed in the tennis-balls at the bottom of
the walker to deploy when needed.

Or someone on crutches raising them up to fire them full-auto until
their balance faltered. (Oh c'mon, if you ever played with crutches when you
didn't need 'em, you know what I'm talking about!)

let us not forget the bolt action sniper canes, or the arm-cast mounted
minigun....

Hell, I played with crutches when I DID need'em. (8-) (Amazing
how hard you can thwack a soccer ball when you need to, though, trying to do
so and not falling over does present something of
a challenge. (8-) )

There was the novel where the guy was trying to assassinate DeGaulle,
title _Day of the Jackal_ or something like that.

And of course Musashi advocated being able to use anything as a weapon. ISTR
that he rowed out to an island to meet an enemy and
fought using one of his boat's oars. Sam-ewe-rai were even trained to
fight without weapons, using martial arts such as baakido and
ka-baa-te, although they did also favor the sh-ewe-riken for missile
weapons.
