SG:AC is fine, as is G-CAV2 (or the FMA* variants posted earlier). "Grav
Cav" sounds too corny to me to take seriously.

Grav Cavalry? Gravitic Cavalry?anti/null/whatever-Grav Cavalry?
Isn't FMA an insurance company?
Course, G-Cav 2 is fine, and you can put fluff like 'The popular press
seems to think it cool to shorten it to Grav Cav, but the grunts take their
cue from it's operational designation, G-Cav'. Is the whole love/hate
relationship with the press too American?

I suggested Grav Cav because (IMO) "Grav" is more readily identifiable as a
science fiction element than "G"; and because it's analogous with the existing
usage Air Cav.
Agreed, just co-op'ting others. And, I like the press. ;->=
