A question popped up during todays gaming. Can beams 1 hit MT missiles?
Because a PDS only hits a 6 and B1's normally hit fighters/sm on a 6

Our group uses the optional rules straight from More Thrust for using the Type
C(Beam 1) as PDF's. Page 5 in More Thrust

Certainly. This was discussed here on the list only a month or two back;
should be in the list archives by now.

Incorrect on both counts, I'm afraid.
PDAF and ADAF used to hit MT missiles on rolls of 6 only. Those two systems
have been replaced by the FB1 PDS (and ADFC), which hit non-heavy
fighters and all types of missiles on rolls of 4 or better.
B1s hit fighters and missiles of all types on rolls of 5 or better, just
like the MT C-batteries did.
Regards,
However, if you are not using FB, (still using FT 2nd Edition and MT) Both
systems hit on a roll of a 6.

If you're not using FB, then you're not using PDS. PDS =|= PDAF.
Class-1 batteries used to hit MT missiles on a 6, that's true - my bad.
They hit fighters on rolls of 5 and 6 though, so Corey wasn't entirely
right either :-/
