Subject: More FT questions....

Hello all, Put together a few questions I have concerning FT gaming.

1. Does Alan Brain have a website? I am looking to get a copy of his Star Trek
rules for FT that he wrote and the URL I found for his site is a dead link. If
he does not have a URL can anyone send me a copy of the rules please?
(Basically would like to find a set that depicts TOS with cinematic
movement--found one set so far but most seem to deal with TNG-era.)

2.Any ideas as to how to model the Doomsday Machine from Trek TOS? (other than
weapons have no effect on outer hull..)

3. Am working on an idea for an FT campaign in Trek TNG-era.(see below)

During the Dominion War, Federation Intelligence Section 31 is resorting to
some drastic measures to turn the tide--2 of the ideas are:
A-- using former Starfleet officers/crew that have been mustered out
,for one reason or another, as crews for new ships (with service on these new
ships in exchange for their freedom)--since there are low numbers of
these particular individuals, and since it is thought that integrating these
individuals back with Starfleet may injure morale, this leads to---->
B--equipping some of these ships with a new M6 computer unit (an updated
M5 without Daystrom's engram in its programming) to make up for crew numbers
and to field greater number of (and, hopefully, more effective) ships.

Needless to say, these ships will operate under "plausible deniability" with
orders to self-destruct if faced with capture. And Section 31 has seen to
it that the new M6 units can be remotely destroyed by them if these ships
decide to run,or tampering with the unit itself will ensure ship's
destruction. So the choice is fight, or languish in the brig (with
additional charges/prison time added on for not "serving" when
"recalled" by Starfleet....or worse!)

One of the former Starfleet officers wishing to fight is former-Capt.
Benjamin Maxwell ,previously of USS Phoenix.Court-martialed for
destroying a Cardassian freighter and warship without orders, nor proving the 2
ships were smuggling weapons,he has been given a second chance. Knowing his
motivation for, and experience with, fighting the Cardassians,Section 31 has
given him
one of the new M6-equipped ships--the refitted USS Phoenix. His orders
are to
act as commerce raider behind Cardassian lines--a role which will suit
him
perfectly.............

What do ya'll think of this idea? Am looking at it as a series of linked
scenarios with this ship.Suggestions/comments/ideas welcome on this.

Thanks,

Let slip the hounds of war! Um, how do they plan to stop him after the war is
over? He might find a way to counter all the precautions... If he lives long
enough.

Mark, There is a copy of the rules on the UFTWWWP at
http://www.homegame.org/siefert/uftwwwp/files/st-ft.htm. I don't know if
they are the same ones he had on his website.

However, if you want the stuff, I have a backup. Or ten. Just e-mail me,
and I'll zip it and send it.

Please do! It would be faster than my scanning it for Mark......)
