I have all but one national type using one style of weapons for their first
line units (Well, I dropped the HEL equipped Imperial Japanese Kingdom.)

The low tech troublemakers - PHR: Christian Communists - use
HMW/Tracked-HVC/RFAC; Not necessarily by choice.

The others use:

GEV/MDC (NEA - small FSE backed independents,)
GEV/DFFG (IC - the big player in the system,)
GEV/GMS (NPC - NAC backed [very] independent,)
GEV-Tracked/HKP (RH in a 'third tier' - back water - colony situation,)
The PHR above which has the largest forces on the planet numbers wise
(political-religious dissidents dumped on a 'penal colony' basis from
IC/ESU/Japan origins,)
and the GEV-SLAM equipped LLAR [allied with the NPC because it is a low
importance LLAR colony and they are not appreciated by the NEA, PHR and IC
groups {who don't have a lot of love for the NPC either, especially the PHR
and NEA.}]

Actually the PHR doesn't like anybody else...

The UNSC presence is GRAV/MDC equipped but at this point I have nothing
on the shelves for DS 2 and only a fragment of a platoon for SG 2.

IC and NPC have interstellar ships stationed in the system (2 planets and a
large moon.)

I have a draft for a Great Bear State (think someone else pre-empted the
title though, sigh) force where weapon technology is multi-faceted -
GRAV/MDC or GEV/HKP abetted by GEV/DFFG, some GEV/SLAMs infantry support
vehicles and a few GMS vehicles. A confederated group that arose out of
a balkanized planet where the GBS sits on a Australia/US-Canada-Mexico
sized continent where each 'State' provides certain technological equipped
units optimized for their terrain (in their opinion.) But that has not seen
work for many a moon... since it is not a part of the Cotu system.

Supply is a nightmare off planet...

Gracias,

You have a purely DFFG-armed unit? Does that work
out? I can't imagine giving up all my ranged firepower.

I also dislike having GMS-pure units. Each of these
weapon 'types' (direct fire, direct fire close range, and guided missle) have
their strengths and weaknesses and in my experience tend to have a more
synergistic effect than anything "pure".

For instance, if you don't use GMS at all, then your enemies do not feel the
urge to design their vehicles with ECM or PDS. So they get to save big money.
If you don't use direct fire at all, then your opponents don't spend on
stealth (I know, according to OO stealth is never worth it.). I'd rather make
them worry about every single threat on the board. I want
them to have to buy ZADS and counter-battery radars
and everything else because they are worried about what combination I might
throw out there.
