As a college student (read: limited budget and time) I can't afford not to
paint figures. Altho I've got rather a large number being painted at
once now ((GZG stuff: 8 1/300 tanks, 4 1/300 infantry walkers, and I've
got to flock the bases of the 60 1/300 bugs I got), a 25mm redneck, some
15mm medieval light cavalry, and (oh yeah...) that platoon of RIFTS
minis....)

Oh, I know. Writing rules is another of my futile hobbies. After about 1 year
thinking about it, I'm almost at the playtesting stage for the medieval
ones....

Although you've just given me an intriguing idea for a conversion....
Hey, has anyone done a really silly SG army using the weird animal minis that
are availible? Or other really silly SG armies?

G'day Steven,

I don't know if they count as silly or not, but I do have an SG force of
"x-fileish grey aliens", some with 'probes/energy rods", some with
"energy spheres", some with "big ray guns" (used GW plastic plasma pistols
etc) and
2 with heavy weapons (they're carrying NAC/Nun with gun grenade
launchers). They usually rate a raised eyebrow or two the first time I pull
them out of the box in front of a new opponent, the new opponent either cracks
up completely or leaves when I then pull out the 2 FBI agents, cigarette
smoking man, bald FBI director etc...;)
I also have a couple of pink tap dancing elephants I plan to use eventually;)
Cheers

I have GOT to get to Australia one of these days...
> Hey, has anyone done a really silly SG army using the weird animal
Well, I haven't done SGII or FMA stats for them yet, but....
http://www.voicenet.com/~johncrim/Bogies.html
(Another Graphic-Heavy page...yeah, I'm still playing with the scanner.
I'll add content to these pages soon, I promise)
These are (mostly) plastic figures that are/were avaialable from
Fortress
Figures -- who also, coincidentally, sell plastic "Critter Commandos".
I really want the Penguin pack. And for 18 (I believe) figures for $15.00
U.S., how can you go wrong? I painted an entire army of these guys --
50 troopers, 5 Officers, 5 vehicles, 2 Smartbombs, 5 PA Troopers, and some
miscellaneous guys -- in about 2 weeks. It was a good feeling, and I'll
probably never be able to do anything like it again.
G'day Andrew,

His own... ;)

G'day Michael,

You're more than welcome, by then I may even have my DS force of aliens
done - vehciles are going to be those tripod figures from Irreg (I
think) like the ones out of the War of the Worlds;)
