We made the kits the way Copeland sent them to us. When Jon took over
production he made changes (or he had been making the kits differently) that
we were unaware of until FB came out. All items are now up to FB standard.

I'm seeing some major discrepancies between the miniatures and the Fleet Book
pictures. I realize some of the "bits" might correct this, but the differences
are pretty major, the ones I've noticed?
FSE CVL Didn't come with an extra runway. FSE Fleet Carrier, only one of the
big square fighter bays.
It's not that big and I've dealt with it by taking the runway from the big
carrier and using it on the CVL, then made the carrier an SDN (they are the
same) and ordered another carrier instead of an SDN.
Is this normal?

KR, is this a quality control problem??? I bought an FSE and a NAC fleet. I
THOUGHT the FSE CVL was missing the extra runway. But I had one... and I think
it came from the FSE SDN, the Foch! It doesn't go with that model, but I
immediately recognized it as missing from the FSE CVL.
Now, I can't be certain of this. It IS possible that I opened them and
accidentally put the runway in with the SDN, but I was pretty careful to only
open one model at a time... Something to check?

This may be due to the fact that the US produced minis from GeoHex DON'T
necessarily always have exactly the same smaller detail parts as the versions
we currently sell over here in the UK (in some cases you get MORE bits, in
some less, in others just different!).
The reason for this is that GeoHex began their licensed production back when
the original ships were made by CMD rather than GZG (we still used to be the
UK seller of them, but CMD actually made them). A few years ago, we took them
over from CMD when its proprietor retired through ill health, and in doing so
as we had to remake almost all the moulds we took the
opportunity to revise some of the models slightly. Most of the US-made
versions are still following the original CMD designs, whereas of course we
did the fleet book1 from our current production items.

If you plan to no longer carry that one, lemme know so I can scrape together a
little cash to buy a few more!

We kept all the "old" versions for now, you can still get them.

oh, me too! me too! iirc, the old style was like the new style, but minus the
tanks on the back? i first saw the new version when i bought some at salvo a
few years ago, and i was quite disappointed that they were different from the
ones in the catalogue. don't get me wrong, i think the new ones are *very*
nice, but somehow, the old ones were just a little more elegant. still, art
imitates life.

if any of them find their way to the UK (or the GZG foundries decide to
make any more), i'll happily part with some of my hard-earned drinking
tokens for them.
