Subject: Militant Orders

Thinking about this topic made me wonder
about (loosely) equivalent ESU structures -
perhaps the Thugees or the Shaolin? Bald headed warrior monks who are as
deadly with the assault rifle and grenade launcher as their ancestors were
with the chinese sword and spear? And secret assassins or other secret groups
from the Indian subcontinent? And Japan having a resurgence of the Iga or Koga
clans as assassins? Or the Samurai (some strong suggestion of a cultural
resurgence here in Japanese SG2 figs)? And the North American Aboriginals
might substitute some tribal groups? (Comanche warriors? Sioux?)

Lots of potential in the GZGverse for revival of
old near-defunct groups (and some non-
defunct ones)! The exodus of many groups from Earth leaves good room for this.
And of course, these groups would have revived with some of the old culture
and traditions, but married them to new technology and capabilities.

An interesting thread, all in all.;)

I suspect the mainstream parts of the IJSF consider themselves "modern
samurai" just as Japanese aircraft pilots have done since they first got them.
The scoutship crews are another matter...

Imperial Japanese Kingdom

The Thousand Nations and, on a smaller scale, the Native People's Circle.

People's Holy Republic (Asian Christian Communists)
South Asian Imperium (South/South East Asian "secular" group)
plus variations of more conventional groups (The NAC is not alone in having
splinter groups, or diverse groups traditionally associated with other
mainstream Blocs) such as Royal Russian Republic, New European Association,
League of Latino Peoples...

And those are just mine, others have some truly fun and/or oddball
groups. Just like real life (patent pending)!

Having seen the GZG-Pedia map, one both widely developed and still open
to alternative groups being invented.

Verrry interesting.

Or some of the ethnic/religious groups becoming independent. The
Sikhs are still interested in breaking away from India and I'd expect some of
the other groups are also. Postulate New Hindustan, complete with rebellions,
unrest, ethnic and religious strife, and NAC and ESU agents, and you're back
in the Great Game.
