It gets worse. Galoob has been dumping a number of their sets. I've been
picking up a number of both the 3 ship sets and some of the ~20mm fig sets at
between $2.50 and $3.00.For those in the US, it seems to shift between
TRU and Wall/K-Mart to Kay-Bee/Toy Liquidators. At least, here in the
'heartland' that's true.
Throw in both fact that I don't enjoy painting, and when I do paint it's
certainly no better than on the MM's, and it was a winner for me.
If only I could find a cache of Star Trek XII's for that price. ;->=

Ya, like that's really going to happen any time soon. Besides, you'd have
fight me for them. ( or at least snarl and stare at each other allot).

The distributors in Australia aren't going to bring them in, and Galoob won't
sell to overseas customers. I was thinking of buying blind through a friends
contact in the US, but if the figures are no good, it would be nice to know
before hand.

Trevor, haven't picked any up, but I was thinking that these reminded me of
the 'Action Fleet' Star War figs. Too small to mix with 25's, and just a
smidge too large for the other Star War figs. Just off the top of my head, so
YMMV.

Exactly what I'd like to know!
Jeremy spake thusly upon matters weighty:
I've got their Marines and aliens. They ain't GZG figs.....
Think 1/72nd scale airfix or 1/76th scale matchbox plastic figures.
That's the scale of the human sized figures in the aliens line. They have
moving arms and legs (move as a pair mind you) and they would need based for
serious use because they don't stand up that well. Paint job is standard toy
(ie not full hobby connosieur grade). The flip side is that the vehicles are
rugged (they are toys after all!). Stuart Murray sent me the alien queen, and
I've got it perched on my desk. She's about 1.5 times as tall as a marine
(she'd be twice as tall if not hunched) and is unmistakably an aliens alien.
But made of somewhat malleable plastic, and with a very basic paint job. The
ST bugs might be bigger, since they were meant to be large.
If you can get them for a reasonable price, they'd be okay I'd guess. Int'l
shipping is painful (if you can cut a deal with Stuart he might act as a NY
intermediary). The aliens APCs are nice and I plan on
using them both in GZG 25mm, and anything down to 1/72nd or 15mm. And
a heck of a lot cheaper than a Phalanx.
Tom.
