Hey all, I've been rooting around for some good Mecha miniatures in
15mm-28mm scale. I am aware of DP9's line of miniatures but am looking
for more. Does anyone on this list have any suggestions?

If you can find the Exo-Squad figs, they make great 15mm Mecha.
I have two Raiders (aka Riflemen) (one of them my brother somehow
found and gave me for x-mas :-), but have not been able to find ANY
others around.

For 28mm scale, there's Armorcast:
http://www.armorcast.com

They have beautiful -- but HUGE -- resin 28mm BattleTech mechs. A
little too big for gaming purposes, I think, but you never know.

They also have some smaller items under "Steamers". These are meant to be
steam-powered war machines, but with a bit of effort you could make them

look a little more futuristic. I particularly like the "Deathballs",
personally.

Hellion productions:
http://www.hellionproductions.com/
...is doing resin 28mm "Cav" models, which look quite nice. A bit pricy, and
again these are BIG models, but excellent work. I really like this one:

Finally, there's Games Workshop. The Tau, one of the 40K races, have several
different varieties of battlesuits available, and they look like

very archetypical mecha designs. In terms of size, they are also a lot more
playable than the stuff above. Like most GW products, though, they ain't
cheap.

Hey guys thanks for the great links so far. I should clarify something
since I made a mistake :) When I said 15-28mm I meant not in scale but
that actual size! Similar to DP9's scale for their Heavy gear stuff, where the
gears are actually about the same size as a 25 mm miniature. Sorry for the
confusion!

Oh. Well, that changes things. ;-) Unfortunately, I don't know
of anything that size (15mm mecha?? reeeeally tiny!). Sorry. :-(

I can think of one thing: Ral Partha (now Ironwind) had some stuff in the
Battletech line. The regular Battlemechs are too big, but they had these
smaller ones called "Protomechs" that were about 20 to 25mm tall. Nicely
done, too -- not as silly looking as most of the later Battlemech
designs. Check the Iron Wind site, and they may have some protomech packs
available.

The Armorcast guys do a Battletech game at the local cons, 10-15 Mech on
each side. Plus battlesuits and infantry, etc.

I use Protomechs/etc. in DS 2 as Smaller (Size 1/2) Mechs. I also use
the rules found on the Yahoo DS@ list for integrating them into
'baseline' DS2 forces/games.

Gracias, Glenn

Hx, SF, and Fx: 6 mm figures, Starships and 1:6K "Wet Navy" warships are my
main interest. But I have forces in 6 through 25 mm FWIW...

I think you could try Gladiator Games. They have a few in their 1/300

I believe that Adler also have one or two in their 1/300 SF range.

em-4 has nice mix'n'match plastic 25mm-28mm tall mechs:

http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/robots2.gif
http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/Science_Fiction.html

They sell them 5 to a package (3 different body styles, 5 different arm style<
all inter changeable). ICE used to sell them 25 or 30 to a box under the name
"Steel Warriors." No idea if anyone sells them in the states now.

The various 15mm and 25mm GZG power armor troopers might work. The FSE 25mm in
particular would work nicely:

I think GZG Japanese Ashigaru Powersuit would also fill the bill (does anyone
have pics of these in 25mm?).

The Rifleman is permanently O.O.P. as the licence RalPartha had for using the
Robotech designs expired. This also means you can't get: Locust, Battlemaster,
Warhammer, Marauder, Crusader or any of the other original 12 from the early
years (and they are no longer in the new printings of the 3025 tech readout.)

The old models are permanantly OOP due to a particularily nasty licencing spat
between FASA and the holders of Macross (not robotech~) There are a fair
amount of minis available on Ebay of the unseen, and Ironwind Metals (the new
makers of Battletech minis) have been releasing resculpted miniatures of the
old designs. The resculpts aren't too bad at all, though they obviously don't
resemble anything like the old ones.
