For the record.....
When I was at school, back in the days of the steam-driven pornograph
machine, we were taught (and used) both imperial and metric. Nowadays I think
that schools over here exclusively teach metric, though imperial is still in
common use in many areas of everyday life; we
have a really odd mix - we still use miles for road distances, but
metric for all shop weights and measures - except for milk and beer,
which still comes in pints (like elephants). Go figure. ;-)
I still like the inch as a measurement unit for tabletop gaming, which is why
I (and a lot of other UK rules writers) still use it. It is large enough to
not be fiddly, relatively simple to eyeball, and suits miniature sizes well.
YMMV of course. Plus, obviously, I had the US market at least partly in mind
when I
That said, the books DO go to pains to suggest generic measurements, defining
'MU's', with only a few slips. When I see rules and variants, as opposed to
examples or AAR's, described in inches, I want to shout, no, it's MU's.

Schools in the UK must have been *really* different back in the day...
(Different from over here in the prudish colonies, at any rate)

You measure elephants using pints?
Measuring a large animal by (liquid) volume and not weight suggests.... well,
I'm not sure what it suggests, but that's odd.
You English. Odd. Just plain odd. Pornograph machines in school and pints of
elephant...

You DID notice who said that, yes? Who played "Edie Kochte" in FMASheep II as
a Japanese schoolgirl with too little skirt, too much cleavage, and waaay too
much interest in tentacles?

That might be enough to give me a new life's goal.... Other than a full range
of Character figs in 15mm....
The question is what sort of sheepskin will it require?

Would a pornograph machine onboard a fleet carrier improve fighter morale?
How about land based models in Stargrunt/Dirtside? Are there optional
rules for a pornograph sheep module?

http://lists.csua.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lIt has to be
factored in, I doubt there is a carrier without a pornograph machine.
