Can I just point out to everyone who is asking for FMA draft copies, that
while I have no problem with this, the draft that is currently in
circulation on the list IS now quite out-of-date, a lot of it having
already been superseded by stuff that's presently undergoing playtest. By all
means play around with the existing draft, but just bear this in
mind -
a lot will change between now and the eventual publication!!

/geek mode/ You've shown us the alpha release of the rules. We're
asking
if we can see a beta release of the FMA rules. /geek/

Somehow we confused getting an update to the draft and finding out about
the final print version. (Well at least I got confused! ;-> )

The only problem is that Jon has been burned in the past. Some of the very
early Fleet Book stuff made it onto this list. A couple of people didn't like
it and started posting here and on Usenet about how they hated the direction
the game was going. Except, that's not the direction the game went! It was
just a very early draft. As such, Jon created a playtest list.

We're still thrashing out FMA stuff on the playtest list. Considering how much
traffic that list gets with the few of us that are on it and testing, I'd hate
to see what my inbox would look like if the latest stuff was released here!
*S* To be honest, I think it's still pretty much in a "late alpha" stage.

Personally, I think it's going well, except I'm not sure where Jon is going to
get 27-sided dice for the morale system...

Uh... that was a joke! *G*

I've heard a couple of people at working complaining about getting
70-80 emails a week...I don't think they believe me when I told them
that I'm averaging 500-600/wk at home...

I thought that was a morale test for the *players*? "Roll 1d14, 1d17, 2d26 and
1d31, using actual dice (handmade acceptable, software is not). If result is
over 6,
congratulations--you haven't qualified to play the game, but you
*have* qualified to think about reading about the game. Oh, and if the result
is 5...you're Beth."

Well, one of my friends has a genuine d34, several d7s, d16s, etc. IIRC
I've got a d26 somewhere :-)
